The peaceful, quite magic of snow and ice.
Last evening, the radio reported freezing fog in the Walla Walla Valley. I was quite interested in the term. I wondered what Freezing Fog was and how it might interact with my car windshield. But not really needing to go out at 9 pm, I headed for bed. I awoke this morning to find the answer. Freezing fog delicately touched every branch, branchlette, spiderweb, bark, fence post and fallen leaf with icy thorns. I could not help but go outside and take pictures early this morning when it was 23 degrees out. I was thinking that it might only last for a few hours. But to my pleasant surprise, it persisted through the whole day offering unexpected delight when peeking out the window, walking down the street or driving to the grocery store.
Winter has definitely arrived and today the evidence finally came to town after lingering in the mountains for the past month.
Morning walk.
Night Walk with the boys!

How cool -- and beautiful! I hadn't heard of freezing fog until now :)
